Doctoral thesis on the "Status, Structure and Function of the Paratext in French Newspaper Texts: A Text Linguistic Analysis" is currently in preparation.
A study of the crisis communication of European companies (with Winni Johansen). The project comprises five dimensions in all: a sociological dimension (risk society), a definitorical dimension (what is a crisis? what are the types of crises?), a management dimension (how do you control a crisis?), a communicative dimension (how do you communicate before, during and after a crisis?), and an intercultural dimension (do cultural differences form part of the crisis communication?). The results of the project will be published in the form of a monography on crisis communication (see Publications).
A study of the green communication of European hotels (with Winni Johansen). So far, the project has concentrated on two genres: green hotel brochures/websites, and green cards with special reference to the communicative strategies (eg. strategies of argumentation and politeness) applied by hotels in the communication of their green image, and the intercultural differences of their green communication. The results of the project will be published in the form of articles, but a book publication is also under consideration.
